Scanning
There's nothing like a true drum scan to extract every detail from your transparency or negative. Don't be confused by manufacturers' hype of "virtual drum scanners" and all other scanners using a CCD chip; those types of scanners introduce noise into shadow areas, and cannot obtain maximum sharpness due to their design. Their D-Max ratings are nearly always artificially inflated as well. A drum scanner is noiseless, and will pull every bit of detail from your original. Its drum is designed to keep every part of a transparency in perfect focus. You simply can't get a better scan!
All our scans are carried out on our Dainippon 1045 Drum Scanner, using a drum size capable of holding a a flexible copy of 590mm x 500mm.
All scans are scanned direct to CMYK and all sharpness and unsharp masking features are applied in the scanning process.
All transparencies are mounted in oil to reduce dust and scratches.
The magnification range of the scanner is 20% to 4000%
